Which sport will prevail, soccer or basketball?

Soccer or basketball, which one is becoming prevail? Not only kids argued much, but ESPN columnist Henry Albert wrote the other day, predicting that the basketball will become the world's first sport. How this concluded? For instance, the International Basket Association surveied and investigated in Britain, France, Germany and Spain, found that in these four European countries,  there were 33,000,000 basketball fans of the age from 15 to 24, with better society and education background.

The survey result also showed that in places such as Asia and Australia, the basketball has surpassed the soccer, becoming the world first sport. 11% the number maybe a little exaggerated, but the basketball community expanding day by day, is actually undeniable. At the same time ,the American Investigation Company submitted data demonstrating that the basketball has also become US's young people's favorite sport. The following data is carried on the investigation at the American some cities of the people aged from 14 to 17: Basketball: 9,182,000 people, American football: 7,184,000 people, volleyball: 5,558,000 people, English soccer: 5,498,000 people, baseball: 5,464,000 people, softball: 3,970,000 people, ice hockey: 2,477,000 people.
